andryanna says: "oregon tech applied psychology students will be able to get lots of hands on experience at this aba clinic, which oregon tech says can help them have a greater edge after graduating." this a-b-a clinic is the only one within 75 miles of klamath falls. the clinical director says according to the c-d-c, 1 in 59 children are diagnosed with autism. --and with only 159 behavior analysts practicing in oregon, there's a huge shortage. o-i-t hopes to change that by combining a behavior analysis student's classroom work with actual applied experience while they're still in school. bailey says: "oregon techs whole mission is built around applied experience and hands on learning. this is just an extension of oregon tech's mission to make sure we produce students who can do the things they've learned about as opposed to talk about the things they've learned about." d'anna plass is currently an applied psychology undergraduate student working in the clinic. she hopes to get her master's degree in the same field and says this clinic will certainly help her achieve that goal. d'anna says: "it takes away a lot of my anxiety about the master's program. a lot of people say that it's really hard but my bosses who will soon be my professors and are my professors now have told me that the experience that i'm getting right now is going to help a lot with that program" right now there are only three behavior analysts in klamath county and two of them are at the oregon tech big a-b-a clinic. andryanna says: "stay with us for newswatch 12 at 6. i'll explain what oregon says this clinic can do for families in all of klamath county. in klamath falls, andryanna sheppard, newswatch 12." it's
