[e15]cml new bridge ded ii-5 monvo a grants pass correctional facility is giving students a fresh take on education with the opening of a new high school building. it's called new bridge high school and today community members will be celebrating the building's opening with a dedication ceremony. newswatch 12's cassandra mlynarek is live from rogue valley youth correctional facility. she spoke with some students taking classes and shows what kind of an impact this building is having on kids inside. new bridge high school sits on the correctional facility's campus just up the hill. staff tell me they're trying to create as close to a normal high school environment as they can because they're using a positive education experience to help these kids re-integrate into society. research shows that incarcerated people who participate in educational and vocational training are 43 percent less likely to be arrested for another crime than those who do not. they're also more likely to education - and that these troubled youth are some that building and education offerings have made a real especially when we came out to the new building. it has given me a lot more knew a lot but this place education offerings have made a real impact.
