[a14]news open-sot announcer sang is packed. there's around 120 people inside those doors and that's all that are getting in, so about a dozen people headcount.. before asking about a dozen people to leave to keep the building at a safe capacity. nats soon after a dozen people lined up to ask pacific power about the safety of smart meters. one woman says she's still recovering from radiation from cell phone injury. bridget says, "i can feel the staff and feel the detrimental effects and not completely keel over so i can talk about it." a local electrian says he has multiple clients with radiation sensitivities. adding the new smart meters are flat out unhealthy. scott says, "on a business level it would be great because so many people would be sick that i would have a lot of business but i don't think that's really good for the society as a whole and it's not sustainable." pacific power says about 88 thousand new meters will be installed in homes and businesses across the rogue valley. the smart meters are designed to track power outages faster. pacific power said at the meeting there's no evidence of the meters being dangerous. pacific power is offering a fee for those looking to opt-out of these new meters. you can find out more about that on our website, kdrv.com in talent, sionan barrett, newswatch12.
