a traffic crash. on sionan says, "tonight i sat down for an interview with former u.s. presidential candidate mike huckabee. he tells me come november, he wants oregonians to vote to de-fund state paid abortion." around 700 people funneled into bethel church tonight to hear mike huckabee speak. organizers said i couldn't record his speech.. but i did get an exclusive interview with him before he took the stage. mike huckabee says, "the attitudes about abortion are changing, most importantly from younger women. younger women are more pro life as a generation and their mothers and grandmothers largely because they can't ignore the science." i called planned parenthood and asked what an end in state funding could mean for women with unplanned pregnancies. it said the impact would be devastating for low income women.. going on to say "extremist politicians like mike huckabee are out of touch with oregon values. and in 20-14, mike huckabee claimed women with unplanned pregnancy 'cannot control their libido' without 'uncle sugar.'" governor mike huckabee told me he was misquoted explaining, "i care that planned parenthood has missed the value of every human life, that they think some lives are the expendable and disposable. i don't. i think the kid with down syndrome is just as valuable as the captain of the football team." after petitions to de-fund abortions in 20- 12, 14, and 16 failed to make our state ballot..two medford locals are hopeful for november. jim says, "i want to see it on the ballot and i don't think the state has any business being in the abortion business." butted with pamela says, "we should be able to decide whether we want our money to go towards abortion or not." the petition would need to get at least 88 thousand signatures by july 6th to make oregon's 20-18 ballot. sionan says, "for the full statements from planned newswatch12."
