flooding. [a15]medford man kille din crash-stinger the woman i spoke to wants to remain anonymous-- but she says she saw the crash right before her eyes and tried to help the victim, 29-year-old ryan folsom. "all i knew was i saw a wedding ring, i saw a watch, and a very nice dressed person, from the shoulders down." the woman i spoke to is describing 29-year old ryan folsom who was killed yesterday afternoon. she says she saw a woman drive over the center median into traffic going the opposite direction. after the crash she says she ran to ryan's car, and her boyfriend ran to the other driver's car and their instincts to try and help kicked in. she says ryan had a pulse but could not answer her. "it was really faint but it was there. we were just talking to him telling him help was on the way, we're here, you are not by yourself. we got no response it was just nothing." california highway patrol says a woman - identified as grace ward - began driving northbound in the southbound lanes on i-5. and crashed into ryan head-on. ward was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. chp says ward may have been suicidal when she drove across the median into oncoming traffic but they're still investigating. "she didn't care about anyone else's life, not her own and she took someone innocent, a someone and tell them you're not alone, we are going to get you help, that's all you can do." folsom, grew up in medford. he was on the road to becoming a doctor. i spoke to a close friend of his who says he recently got to see ryan "we we did." "he constantly made the pain they feel losing him. ian says ryan has a baby due later this month. he's survived by his pregnant wife and two kids. a gofundme has been created to help the family "my wife and i felt really strongly we needed to do something to help because this is what they were counting on, to end up in a future where he was a provider, and all these years of medical school would be worth it and they could have the life they were aiming for. now that he's not there i can't imagine the vulnerability she's feeling." if you want to help support ryan and his family, head to our website kdrv.com for details. a
