Southern Oregon basketball completes weekend sweep

Both Raiders basketball teams took care of business this weekend, with wins over Evergreen State and Northwest University on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

ASHLAND, Ore. — Southern Oregon capped off the weekend sweep on homecourt with wins over Northwest University on Saturday. The women took down the Eagles 59-42 and the men edged out NU, 70-67.

Syd'Nee Fryer secured her fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and 18 rebounds. It was the most rebounds since 2009 when Jackie Speer broke the program's record with 28 boards. Fryer and the team hold fast in third place of the Cascade Conference with the win. They'll take on first-place Northwest Christian next weekend.

In the men's game, Tate Hoffman helped the Raiders hold off the Eagles who mounted a late comeback. Hoffman scored 25 points and had nine rebounds and three assists to go along with it. Jordan Hunt secured a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds to keep the 15th ranked Raiders in the win column.

Both teams travel to Eugene next week to take on Northwest Christian on Friday.
