MEDFORD, Ore. — Hockey season is almost back in the Rogue Valley and the Spartans are excited for the year ahead.
Players started arriving at The Rrrink this weekend and practices began as the team gets to know each other. It's a team that leans to the younger side, but some veteran Spartans return to Medford to help lead the team under new ownership.
They want to help the players new to junior hockey acclimate to the elevated level of play so the team can succeed when the first puck drops in October.
Dylan and Brie Martin took over as owners of the Southern Oregon Spartans in July. Dylan will serve as the teams General Manager and head coach, while Brie will be the team's president and game day events manager.
