MEDFORD, Ore. — A stacked South Medford girls basketball team continues to roll through the shortened 2021 season, taking down rival North Medford on Tuesday, 67-16 in the two teams' second meeting of the season.
It was all Panthers from the get-go. South scored the game's first 30 points, not allowing a North Medford point for the first 12 and half minutes of the game.
South didn't let up either as the game continued on. They took a 34-9 lead into halftime and kept the Black Tornado off the board for the first four and a half minutes of the second half.
All but one of the 14 Panther players who saw playing time recorded points in Tuesday night's contest. They were led by senior Kaili Chamberlin who had 13 of the team's 67 points.
North Medford was led by Jazmyne Wells with nine of the team's 16 points.
South Medford beat North Medford by 51 points earlier in 2021 at North Medford, 71-20.
North Medford's next game is Friday at home against Roseburg with first tip set for 6:45 pm.
South Medford doesn't play again until next week when they take on Roseburg at home at 7 pm on Monday.
