MEDFORD--The South Medford girl's basketball team hosted the Frankston Blues in an exhibition game on Tuesday night.

As part of its west coast tour, the Australian-based club team arrived in Southern Oregon gushing about being able to turn right with a red light (a practice that is forbidden in Australia) and about the quality of the Panthers' facilities.

The team was also sure to mention the legends it had heard of South Medford's team. With the Panthers approaching 100 consecutive Southwest Conference wins, the Blues had heard stories from Sheldon High School (their opponent on Monday) regarding the talent the Panthers possess.

Those prophecies ultimately came true, as the Panthers rolled to a 70-37 win. Junior guard Ula Chamberlin led the way with 20 points.

Frankston heads to San Francisco on Wednesday and then to Los Angeles for a few more games before heading back home in mid-December. Frankston will likely return to the area again in the coming years, as the club has made stops at St. Mary's and Cascade Christian in previous seasons.
