CALDWELL, Idaho — The Hustlin' Owls hung in there every step of the way on Saturday, but they were edged out in both games against No. 23 College of Idaho.
In game one, sixth-ranked Oregon Tech forced extra innings with an RBI grounder in the seventh from Logan Nunes. They came right back out in the top of the eighth with another run thanks to an Aubrie Businger lineout that scored McKenna Armantrout from third. But the Yotes scored two runs on two wild pitches in the bottom of the frame to walk off the Owls and get a game back.
Game two had some of the offense carry over, as OIT scored in the top of the first on a Krista Ward single. However, that was all the Owls could muster and COI would score two in the third and another run in the sixth to complete the Saturday sweep and a series split.
Oregon Tech will wrap up the regular season in Klamath Falls next week with games on Friday and Saturday against Eastern Oregon University.
