EUGENE, Ore. — It was supposed to be an offensive shootout between star quarterbacks Justin Herbert and Jake Luton but turned into the polar opposite.
Luton was sidelined with a forearm strain in his final game as an Oregon State Beaver, according to the Pac-12 Network broadcast. Meanwhile, Herbert only threw for 174 yards and one touchdown.
Tristan Gebbia got the start in place of Luton and had a decent game. He threw for 243 yards on 26 completions and no touchdowns. The lone Beaver touchdown came from runningback Jermar Jefferson who finished the game with 81 yards rushing and a touchdown.
Oregon will face Utah next Friday in the Pac-12 Championship at 5 pm in Santa Clara, California.
