CALDWELL, Ida--- The Oregon Tech baseball team earned first-year head coach Jacob Garsez his first wins in his OIT career on Friday. Oregon Tech beat the College of Idaho, 14-10, in game one and 9-1 in game two.

Game one provided Oregon Tech with some adversity to bounce back from. That has been one of Garsez's key points to this season, responding to adversity. The Yotes scored four runs in the first inning but were held scoreless in the second inning. The top of the third is when Oregon Tech got moving offensively and never looked back. The Owls scored three runs in the top of the third and added two more in the top of the fifth. After that, Tech added a barrage of runs with four in the seventh and five in the eighth.

Sophomore Alex Malcom and junior Mitchel Swanson each scored three runs.

Game two was much slower at the start. Neither team had points after two innings. The Owls would be the first on the board with one run in the third.

Tech continued growing its lead with the Yotes only scoring one run in the bottom of the fourth.

Dalton Daily led the scoring for OIT with a 3-run homer.

All-in-all, Oregon Tech took the win, 9-1.

Oregon Tech and the College of Idaho will have another double-header on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
