North Medford High School athletic department prepared for upcoming seasons

With the continuing concern around the high number of covid cases in Jackson County and what the scene may look like later on - officials with North Medford high school are making sure they keep themselves informed, as well as relay that information to students and parents as well.

Medford, Ore. - North Medford High school's district office does their part to maintain school officials informed regarding the growth of the covid variant in Medford, and the continuously changing health protocols.

On top of that - North Medford's athletic director and assistant principal Brent "Mac" Mcconaghy remains optimistic because of the recent success of the school's summer program, and the small number of cases linked to the students while they were on campus.

"You can point to our summer experience with the Medford school district where a limited number of students contracted anything related to covid as a result of being in school. So one of the safest places you can be is at a Medford school and with the black tornado family."

In regards to spectators for the school's upcoming sporting events, last week the OHA and OSAA got together to create guidelines requiring them to wear masks both for indoor and outdoor events, no matter their vaccination status.

Mac and the rest of the schoolboard staff would like to let everyone in the North Medford high school community know they are taking every precaution when it comes to mask-wearing, both for coaches and student-athletes when not engaging in their sports activities.

Whether it's watching game film or being in the classroom or office, safety remains a primary focus for the Medford school district.
