LEWISTON, Ida--- The Medford Mustangs suffered their first loss of the American Legion Northwest Regional Tournament, 4-1, on Friday.
The game was all tied at zero through the first three and a half innings.
Bozeman scored first, in the 4th inning, and took a 1-0 lead.
A big 5th inning for Bozeman gave the team three runs.
The Mustangs loaded the bases in the 6th inning, but already had two outs. A ground out ended the inning, and squandered an opportunity to get some runs on the board.
Medford finally got a run on the board in the final inning, making it 4-1. The Mustangs managed to get a runner on 3rd and 1st, but already had two outs. Then, a Ryan Sandoval ground out ended the game.
Ricky Boortz pitched three innings for the 'Stangs. He allowed four hits and one run. Brady Buchanan stepped in after that, and managed two innings. He allowed three runs, with three errors.
Medford will now play Idaho Falls. Medford defeated Idaho Falls, 6-3, earlier in the tournament. That game will be on Saturday, at 9:30 a.m.
