MEDFORD, Ore--- The #2 South Medford Panthers advanced to the 2nd round of the OSAA Playoffs with ease, after a 61-37 victory over Tigard.

The Lady Panthers were in control from the opening seconds of the game. After a quick turnover, the Panthers went on a run that included three steals, three blocks, and two three-pointers. Before the Tigers called their first timeout, the Panthers had jumped to an 11-0 lead. The Panthers never looked back.

Kaili Chamberlin's work from the three-point line helped South Medford separate itself. Chamberlin knocked in six total three-pointers, including two in the 1st quarter, two in the 2nd quarter, and two in 4th quarter. In total, Chamberlin led all scorers with 28 points.

The Panthers also got big minutes from Toni Coleman, especially in the early going. Coleman finished with 11, but six of those points came in the opening minutes.

South Medford will play Bend which is the 15 seed, for a chance to advance to the quarterfinals. That game will be on Friday, at South Medford High School. Tip-off time is still to be announced. This article will be updated when that time comes out.
