Wildfire smoke has continued to give football teams fits in the last couple of weeks. As we head into the weekend, here is what we know about games that have been moved for delayed.
Southern Oregon vs Montana State-Northern:
SOU has postponed the game that was set to be hosted at Raider Stadium on Saturday. The program says it hopes to make up the game next week. SOU is scheduled for a bye week. Southern Oregon could potentially make up the game if the smoke clears out by then.
North Medford vs Del Norte:
North Medford vs Del Norte has been moved from Spiegelberg Stadium to Del Norte High School. Game time has shifted from 7:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Phoenix vs Sutherlin:
Phoenix vs Sutherlin has been moved from Phoenix to Sutherlin. The game is still scheduled to kick at 7:00 p.m.
Ashland vs Henley:
Ashland vs Henley is a toss-up at the moment. The schools are deciding between playing at Henley High or Willamette. That all depends on if the air quality allows. StormWatch 12 is reporting that air quality at 7:00 p.m. on Friday does not look good. The smoke also worsens, based on current models, as the night moves forward.
If the basin is not an option, the game will move to Willamette High School in the Eugene area.
A decision is coming from the Ashland athletic director on Friday morning.
As we move into Friday, we will continue to update you on event changes and delays.
