GRANTS PASS, Ore--- At the surface, Hidden Valley quarterback Sam Vidlak's decision to commit to the University of Montana seemed a bit early.

On January 7th, 2020, Vidlak made the announcement on Twitter.

"After a great talk with [Montana Head Football Coach Bobby Hauck], I am honored and thankful to announce I’ve received a full-ride offer from the University of Montana. With that being said I would like to announce my commitment to The University of Montana. I can’t wait to play for the Griz!" said Vidlak.

The fact that Vidlak just finished his junior season made things feel a tad early.

The thoughts of more D1 attention may be intriguing to others. Vidlak was waiting for his offer for a long time.

After visiting Missoula, Montana several times with his family, Vidlak decided that Montana was his dream school. Those trips spanned back to his first camps with Montana when he was a freshman.

In the interview above, Vidlak explains what is so special about his future home.
