ASHLAND—Over the past two years, Southern Oregon softball’s best hitters have had a career path that’s been exactly the same.

Harlee Donovan last season, Lauren Quirke and Allie Stines this season all came to SOU via San Mateo Community College.

The Bay Area JUCO has sent six players to SOU since 2015, which is the most for any four-year school in that span.

NewsWatch 12’s Jake Garcia takes us through how that came to be, as Stines and Quirke are this week’s Amateur Athletes.
