MEDFORD, Ore--- South Medford High School had quite the day as four different Panthers signed with colleges on Thursday.
South Track and Field standout Jaeda Boutwell will be staying local and signed with Oregon Tech Track and Field. Boutwell mentioned at the signing that she does have interest in playing soccer for Tech as well.
"I have improved so much. I have gone through so much, made so many memories," said Boutwell "I am just so excited to take it to the next level in college and make even more memories."
Emma Schmerbach, the South Medford Girls Basketball standout, signed with Linfield Basketball and Track.
Schmerbach has quite the resume built up at South Medford. Schmerbach not only stands out in basketball but holds as many records in Track as one runner can. Schmerbach is No. 1 all-time at South Medford for the 1,500 and one mile. She is No. 2 in the 3,000, No. 4 in the 800 and 200, No. 8 in the 400, and #11 in the 100.
Rainie Dabbs, the speedster of a soccer player, is headed for the sun at Santa Cruz. Dabbs was involved in game-winning goals in eight of South Medford's matches.
Emily Nash will be running cross-country at George Fox.
"When I went to look at the college, that is what made me want to go there," said Nash. "Because everyone was happy and at practice, everybody had a smile on their face."
Nash only spent three years at South Medford because she ran for North Medford during her freshman campaign. However, Nash said that she had no regrets of making the move to South because of all the memories she made as a Panther.
