ASHLAND, Ore. — It was a big day filled with plenty of awards for Southern Oregon athletes. Four Raiders in three sports took home Cascade Conference player of the week awards.
Men's and women's soccer goalkeepers, Wyatt Zabinski and Kailey Lemon, earned defensive player of the week awards for their shutout performances over the weekend. Zabinski recorded his 29th career solo-shutout and Lemon completed her fourth shutout in a row.
On the court, seniors Taylor Ristvedt and Emma Ryan won the attacker of the week and defender of the week awards, respectively. Ristvedt moved up to No. 2 on Southern Oregon's all-time kills list (1,242) with her 21-kill performance against Eastern Oregon. Ryan had a career-high 31 digs in the Raiders five-set win against the third-ranked Mountaineers. She is now eighth all-time in career digs for SOU.
All three teams are preparing for the Cascade Conference postseason.
