ASHLAND, Ore. — Football is finally back in the Rogue Valley.
After a long 9 months without it, the Raiders held their first fall camp on Sunday as they gear up for a new year.
The message at the first fall camp was clear: intensity and progress.
Offense versus defense drills was a little chippy but in a good, competitive way. There are quite a few roster spots up for grabs, so everyone is trying to prove their worth in the weeks leading up to the season opener.
SOU returns only nine starters this year, but the team is optimistic about the season this year. They enter the season ranked 20th in the NAIA after finishing the 2018 campaign 6-4 and unranked.
The Raiders travel to Sacramento State on August 31st for their first game of the year. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
