MEDFORD—The annual Couple Shuffle Relay and Love Stinks 5K comes to the cartpaths of the Rogue Valley Country Club on Saturday.
Hosted by Southern Oregon Runners, it’s a Valentine’s Day themed race for people of all ages and all abilities.
You can grab a partner and each run a 5K for a combined 10K time, or opt to run by yourself and enter in the individual 5K.
The catch is that the race is held at a golf course.
Race director Jared Fuhriman likes to call it the safest running event in southern Oregon. While runners won’t be competing on the grass itself, the venue is quite different from most other races.
"There are a couple places on this course where we cut across the fairway but it is primarily on the cart path,” he said. “It's a great surface to run on, you don't have to worry about curbs or intersections, and there are no stoplights."
