MEDFORD—For the first time in 15 years, Medford is set to host professional wrestling.
The Brawl Pro Wrestling event on Saturday at the Ramada Medford Hotel and Conference Center will feature 16 pro wrestlers battling for a $5,000 prize.
“These are the top regional guys from Oregon, Washington, Nevada. As soon as I put the call out for the $5,000, everybody that was anybody in the region decided to throw their hand up,” said Matt Phillips, the promoter of the event and owner of Rogue Promotions 541.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the first match will start at 7:00. Tickets are on sale for $20.
“The best thing about it is it doesn’t matter what age you are, everybody can recognize pro wrestling back from when Hulk Hogan was doing it all the way to whoever’s famous right now and you’re a fan of,” Phillips said. “It doesn’t matter if you’re five years old or 65 years old, it’s universally family friendly.”
