PHOENIX, Ore.—This New Year’s Day, two local cheerleaders will take part in the London Parade, and Maegan Farley, a senior at Phoenix High School comes in as the top-ranked All-American.

“When we went into camp and I knew that I had the chance to get top All-American, I was really pleased by it and then when they called my name I definitely started crying," Maegan said.

"The first thing I thought was well, I guess we're going to fundraise for London now," Rachelle Farley, Maegan’s mom and cheer coach, said.

Maegan’s qualified to perform in the London Parade three other times, but only after receiving top All-American honors was she allowed to go.

In this week’s Amateur Athlete, NewsWatch 12’s Jake Garcia shows how she's is preparing for a parade that draws 300 million to watch and 10,000 to perform.
