ASHLAND, Ore. -- Options for Helping Residents of Ashland will be opening its annual winter shelter from November 1st to March 31st to provide housing for adults in need. The shelter will be at First Presbyterian Church in Calvin Hall.
People with children are being directed to the Maslow Project in Medford.
OHRA will follow CDC guidelines for coronavirus concerns, keeping people socially distant and wearing masks. Faith based organizations will be providing individually packaged meals to prevent the spread of germs.
Each person who receives an assigned space from the shelter can keep their spot through March.
No more than 45 people are able to stay in the shelter at once, but once a spot is assigned, it is reserved for the entire 5 months.
A community resource center will be open Monday to Friday 10 AM - 2 PM for people who want to reserve a spot in the shelter. Make an appointment by calling (541) 631-2235.
