IDLEYLD PARK, Ore --- A Klamath Falls woman is now safe after she was rescued near Susan Creek Falls late Wednesday night, but crews are currently searching for her missing dog.
Douglas County Search and Rescue crews found 40-year-old Corrine Marie Compton shortly after eight p-m. Officials say that she told dispatchers that she had lost the trail, and was slipping on the side of a cliff.
First Responders were able to remove her from underneath the North Umpqua Trail. She did not suffer any injuries during the emergency.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office, says that she was with a 12-week old blue nose pit bull, before they were separated during the hike. Searchers were not able to locate the dog at the time Compton was recovered, and are asking for the public's help.
