EUGENE, Ore. — A woman was arrested for setting small brush fires in Eugene on Saturday, police said. This happened around 2:10 p.m. on the west side of the former Shopko property at the intersection of Coburg Road and Chad Drive.
Police said the woman tried to run away after setting the fires. She had a baseball bat and other weapons in her backpack, they said. Officers said she had struck a window and was being aggressive.
The fire was successfully put out, they said.
She is potentially facing several charges including interference, arson and reckless burning. Police were reportedly able to safely take the woman into custody using a taser around 2:20 p.m.
