Wildland Fire Breaks Out on Redwood Highway

CAVE JUNCTION, Ore. -- On June 23, 2018 at 12:39 a.m. The Illinois Valley Fire District says a wildland fire broke out at the intersection of Redwood Highway and Laurel Road. 

Crews say the fire was quickly extinguished and ODF is mopping it up. The cause of the fire is under investigation by ODF. 

The Illinois Valley Fire District wants to remind everyone the Fire Danger Level has been increased to Moderate. 

This means: 

-No burning debris at any time. 
-Campfires, charcoal fires, cooking fires, and warming fires can only be in designated places. 
-Mowing dried grass is not allowed from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
