Ways To Get Home Safely On New Year's Eve In The Rogue Valley

Resources to help you get home without getting behind the wheel after drinking.

Medford, ORE -- New Year's Eve celebrations are often accompanied with heavy drinking, and that can lead to more intoxicated drivers on the roads. 

Local law enforcement will be on the lookout for impaired drivers and is putting more officers on patrol on New Year's Eve. Deputy Noah Strohmeyer with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office says “In a DUII crash, you are putting yourself in danger, your passengers, the other vehicles on the roadway and the other people that may be out and about.". 

If plan on drinking tonight, below is a list of resources to help get you home safe. 

FREE RIDES: 

-Dick's Wrecker Towing Service: Will pick you up and tow your car for free. Call (541) 772-4040

-Triple A (Siskiyou County CA only): Safe Ride Program available for members and non-members. Call (855) 2-TOW-2-GO  or (855) 286-9246. 

-5 Star Taxi: Free rides after 2 A.M. New Year's Eve from bars to homes in Medford. No free rides to the bars. Call 541-245-5555. 

-Crown Taxi: Free rides home from bars after 2 A.M. Call 541-500-1100. 

PAID SERVICES: 

-Uber: Available in Medford, Phoenix, Talent, Jacksonville. Not available in Ashland. 

-Lyft: Also available in much of Southern Oregon. Not available in Ashland. 

-Village Taxi of Ashand: Call (541) 951-0181. 

-Crater Lake Taxi: Call (541) 333-3333.
