BROOKINGS, Ore-- Oregon Health Authority issued a public health advisory for Mill Beach in Curry County.
Officials say there are higher than normal bacteria levels in the water. OHA says you should avoid direct contact with the water in this area until the advisory is lifted.
Higher than normal levels of bacteria can cause several health issues like upper respiratory infections.
If you plan on heading to the beach area you can still have a picnic, fly a kite or walk on the beach. Just don't go in the water.
