MEDFORD, Ore. -- At the Jackson County Courthouse tonight people gathered for a vigil to remember the late Aidan Ellison.
A hearing was scheduled for today in the case but was canceled because the man being charged in Aidan's death has been indicted.
The Student Activist Coalition, Rogue Action Center, Rogue Climate and Southern Oregon Coalition for Racial Equity say they held the vigil to express the gravity of this tragedy.
Keegan is facing multiple charges. He has not been charged with a hate crime, although some people see the shooting as racially motivated.
People who came in support of Aidan and Black Lives Matter covered most of the lawn, holding candles in front of the courthouse within the first hour of the vigil.
One statement made by a woman who spoke for the crowd said "hold your loved ones a little closer".
