GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Police arrested two men on Sunday in connection with an armed robbery at Reinhart Volunteer Park, according to the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety.
Officers responded to the park at 1690 Webster Road shortly before 8:30 p.m. for reports of an armed robbery involving a gun, the agency said. The victim, a 16-year-old boy, said that the suspects held him at gunpoint — taking his cash and other valuables.
Detectives assisted in the investigation, later identifying two suspects as 21-year-old Joseph Tripp and 18-year-old Mitchell Savoie. Both men were found and lodged at the Josephine County Jail on Robbery in the First Degree charges.
"Some of the property taken in the robbery has been recovered and returned to the victim and his family," GPDPS said.
A third suspect is still at large, the agency said, though there is no evidence of a threat to the public.
"This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information pertaining to this case is encouraged to contact the Detective Unit at the Grants Pass DPS," the agency concluded.
