MEDFORD, Ore. — Tinseltown USA theater in Medford is scheduled to reopen at the end of next week, according to the latest from movie theater company Cinemark.
Cinemark has been reopening its chain of theaters across the U.S. in phases since June 19, putting coronavirus precautions in place based on state and federal guidelines. Tinseltown in Medford is scheduled to reopen on Friday, September 4.
When guests are allowed back in the theater, they'll be required to wear face coverings except when eating and drinking inside of the auditorium. Cinemark says that it will also be sanitizing concessions areas and restrooms every 30 minutes, and disinfecting auditoriums in between each movie.
The auditoriums themselves will have reduced capacity and staggered showtimes, but Cinemark says that large parties of family or friends will be seated together in adjacent seats.
Drink and popcorn refills at the concession stand have been halted for the time being, though Cinemark says that it has reduced the price for larger sizes "to compensate for the inconvenience."
