MEDFORD, Ore. — Koa Bully Rescue and Sanctuary, No Pets Left Behind, and Petals 4 Paws have decided to work together as a coalition to help animals and pets affected by the wildfires.
The coalition's main center of location is: 2753 N Pacific HWY, Medford, OR 97501 — the small building next to the Stop and Go market.
Volunteers are hoping to get the building ready for business, free at cost, in two weeks. The building can hold up to 15 dogs and 25 cats. All other animals that need temporary housing will be sent to foster homes. The coalition will be able to hold housing for strays and pets up to 60 days.
Eventually, they hope to expand their services by starting a spay and neuter clinic, help with animals in the community that need to be fixed, and to start a training disaster relief team. They would also like to work with the local authorities to help organize the disaster relief team — so if this happens again, they will be prepared to start saving animals quicker.
There will be no cost to hold animals in need from families and individuals that have lost their home from wildfires. Because there is no cost, the Coalition would like to remind everyone that donations and volunteer help are needed.
