UPDATE: Three people were transported to the hospital after a three-vehicle crash that closed Table Rock Rd. for over an hour between Morningside St. and Midway St.
“The Honda was in front; the truck was behind it. The truck rear-ended the Honda, which pushed it into oncoming traffic which was southbound. The Subaru was southbound so you have a rear-end collision that push the Honda forward into the path of the Subaru which ended up being a head-on collision,” said Medford Police Sargent Don Lane.
Sargent Lane did not believe the injuries were life threatening.
NewsWatch 12’s Alicia Rubin was first on the scene and spoke with a home owner who lives near the intersection, “We see a lot of near misses coming from Morningside on to Table Rock Rd.,” said Leonard Lords, “we have to be really cautious when we’re pulling out of our driveway because of the cars coming from Morningside.”
Lords said that he has noticed more close calls since the Costco opened on Table Rock Rd.
“Table Rock is becoming a busier road because we have Costco here now, we have natural pharmacy and they’re building another shopping center across the street. It’s becoming a major thoroughfare, before it was just a shortcut for a lot of people,” said Lords.
An investigation is still ongoing.
