MEDFORD, Ore. — Travelers looking for a quicker screening experience through the Transportation Security Agency (TSA) will have a local opportunity to enroll starting next week.
TSA Pre-Check allows travelers to skip some parts of airport security screening at "participating U.S. airport checkpoints" for both domestic and international travel. Those approved can go through checkpoints without removing shoes, liquids and gels from a carry-on, laptops from bags, any light outerwear or jackets, and belts.
Enrollment services will be at the Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport from July 23 through August 3. Those interested can go to the Airport's Oval Office from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The application costs $85 for a five-year period, and includes fingerprinting for a background check. According to the Jackson County Airport Authority, the fee can be paid by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier's check. Cash and personal checks will not be accepted.
