TRAFFIC ALERT: Law Enforcement Closes U.S. 199

ODOT: SW Oregon: U.S. 199 in Grants Pass is closed by law enforcement. Detours are in place for traffic between M Street and the Rogue River Highway.

UPDATE 12:57 p.m. -- It appears the road closure is related to an explosive device that Grants Pass police says was was just dropped off the Grants Pass Parkway Fire Station.

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety says this has caused the following roads to be closed: East Park Street is closed between Parkdale Drive and Golden Park. East Park at the Baker Park Entrance is also closed. The Grants Pass Parkway S. Bound is closed at M Street. The Grants Pass Parkway N. Bound is closed at Rogue River Hwy. Traffic is being rerouted away from this location. The Oregon State Police Bomb Squad is enroute to the Fire Department to assist.
