MEDFORD, Ore-- Watch out Nappa Valley.... Southern Oregon's wine scene is quickly growing.
Robbie Ross the Co-Owner of Wine Hopper Tours says, "the wines are becoming world famous here in Southern Oregon."
Chris Salman a tourist says, "we love the wines and we love the wineries."
There are dozens of wineries. Each specializing in different grapes.
At 2 Hawk in Medford people can sit in the tasting room or head outside to explore the vineyard. It's still too early for grapes to be growing, but it's still a breathtaking view.
Salman says, "we just love it, it's relaxing."
Her and her husband come about three times a year to enjoy a little bit of everything.
Salman says, "restaurants, food, and wineries."
Ross says, "yeah drinking wine i would think. Hiking, boating, and rafting."
Ross invited me on her Wine Hopper Tour van. She is one of the co-owners. She takes groups of people in this van to different wineries.
From the Applegate Valley, Upper Rogue Valley to Bear Creek Wineries.
Ross says, "a lot of people in this area have never gone to the wineries and they have never gone on wine tours. Which is surprising."
Ross tells me right now tasting wine in the valley is still affordable and she hopes it stays this way.
