Standoff with Police in Medford Ends With One Man in Custody

A woman was being held against her will in a vehicle, according to the Medford Police Department.

MEDFORD, Ore. — A standoff with police in Medford this morning, March 9th, ended with one man in custody.

Police got a call that a woman was being held against her will in a vehicle near the intersection of Cottage and E 9th, according to Lieutenant Ivens of the Medford Police Department (MPD).

MPD arrived to find a man in a white vehicle with a woman. There was a brief standoff before the man released the woman from the car.

The man refused to leave the vehicle after releasing the woman, according to MPD. Police discharged a "glass breaker" at the window of the vehicle (pictured). They were eventually able to reach the man and put him into custody.
