BUTTE, Mont. — Different week, same story for the Raiders.
A three-point loss to a Frontier Conference opponent and Southern Oregon falls to 0-4 (0-3 Frontier) to start the 2019 season. It's a tough pill to swallow for this SOU team that has been in games until the very end but doesn't have enough time to claw back into the lead.
Making this loss even more devastating was an injury to quarterback Wyatt Hutchinson, who was hit in the head/neck area on a Montana Tech sack. He was carted off the field by the on-call EMTs and taken to a Butte-area hospital.
Sources close to the team said that Hutchinson's condition is "positive." According to the Montana Tech broadcasters, they were told that as Hutchinson was being carted off the field he was able to move his hands and some of his upper body.
Southern Oregon hosts Carroll College next week in Ashland as the Raiders search for their first win of the season.
