MEDFORD, Ore. – Do you know someone who got engaged over the holidays or is scrambling for a spring wedding? Well southern Oregon’s largest and longest running wedding show is back.

David's Bridal and Men's Wearhouse will be hosting fashion shows every day from 12:30 to 2:30pm. The cake dive competition is back. That's where eight brides will tear apart a huge wedding cake looking for a diamond ring and can win a free wedding cake of their own. Organizers expect between 1,800-2,000 people to come over the course of the two days. About 60 different vendors will be there to show off their services.

“It is its own economic force locally. There's a lot of people in the business that depend on it for their livelihood or supplement their livelihood,” said organizer Jes Webber.
Webber said southern Oregon is a destination wedding location because of the area's natural beauty and affordable venues when compared to other areas.

“We actually have people come from the bay area and Seattle and Portland because it's a halfway point. And their weddings don't run as high as they do in those areas in part because of how much it costs to live there,” added Webber.

Last year, Jackson and Josephine counties registered nearly 2,000 wedding licenses combined. Webber added coming to this event with the variety of venders makes planning a wedding enjoyable and memorable in all the best ways.

The Southern Oregon Wedding Show is happening Saturday, January 19th and Sunday, January 20th each day from 10am to 4pm at the Medford Armory.

Organizers will accept two cans of food as a donation to ACCESS for entry OR $2 admission.
