MEDFORD, Ore. -- Oregon State Police says a semi-truck tipped over after the driver tried to avoid hitting a car that had "cut them off" late Thursday night.
The driver told police that she was heading through Medford when another driver in a passenger car pulled out in front of her, causing the truck driver to serve onto the shoulder to avoid a crash. The truck driver tried to correct, but both trailer and cab tipped over.
"It was speculated the load shifted when the driver corrected, and the trailer tipped over and pulled the tractor over," Oregon State Police said.
After that, another crash happened when two separate cars tried to avoid the truck wreckage.
No injuries were reported in both crashes.
Medford Fire said that the truck's load of vinegar and gluten-free snack crackers spilled onto the freeway and along the side of the road.
Police and traffic crews reduced I-5 northbound to one lane into Friday morning as they worked on investigate and clean up the two crashes.
