AGATE LAKE, Ore. — Search efforts continued at Agate Lake on Thursday as multiple agencies looked for the body of a local father believed to have drowned there on Monday night.
32-year-old Jeremy Moore disappeared beneath the surface of the lake on Monday evening after he swam out to retrieve something. Family members on the shore heard him yelling for help, but he vanished before anyone could reach him.
Jackson County marine deputies and Search & Rescue teams have led the search this week, but received some reinforcements on Thursday. The Sheriff's Office in Butte County, California sent two deputies with a patrol boat and an underwater drone. Lyon County in Nevada sent deputy Mary Cablk and her Belgian Malinois K9, "Inca" — a human remains detection dog.
"Deputy Cablk has trained with Jackson County Search and Rescue in the past," the Jackson County Sheriff's Office said. "Both Butte County SO and Lyon County SO are greatly appreciated for their assistance on the lake today."
