Roundball Wrap: Championship Week

Four championship games to cover for southern Oregon high schools and bonus games on top of that in the final Summer Edition of the Roundball Wrap.

South Medford defeated North Medford 74-69 in the SOC Championship game in what was another fantastic match-up between the two schools. Both teams battled to the end with the Panthers winning the 2021 series 2-1 over the Black Tornado after two overtime contests earlier in the year.

Cascade Christian boys basketball fell to Yamhill-Carlton 52-48 in their second straight runner-up finish in the 3A State Championship. A heartbreaking loss after leading the Tigers by 11 heading into the half.

Hidden Valley girl basketball captured their first state title in school history, taking down Philomath 44-39 in overtime. The 4A State Champions battled throughout the game to dominate in the necessary extra minutes.

South Medford girls basketball won their state title bout on Thursday, 64-33, against Sheldon. All six of the seniors on the Panther team worked hard to get to that point to capture a title they thought they had a shot at in 2020 before the state tournament was cut short.
