MEDFORD, Ore. — After nearly two months of being closed to the public, the Rogue Valley Mall plans to reopen on Friday. Jackson County announced late Wednesday night that it had been approved for "Phase One" of Oregon's reopening process from coronavirus restrictions.
Indoor shopping malls were ordered to close by Governor Brown's "Stay Home, Save Lives" order in mid-March. Although the Governor's office stipulated that retail could reopen on May 15, malls were the one exception of a retail location that had to wait for the county's Phase One approval.
While it remains to be seen whether all stores within the mall will open Friday, the mall itself will be back open to the public.
This is a developing story and will updated with more details as they emerge.
