ROGUE RIVER, Ore. — It's been a lifelong dream for local dad, Jared Maddock. He's watched America's Funniest Home Videos his whole life and always wanted to submit a video. Sunday night, he sat down to watch his home video not only air on the show, but win third place.
The video was a prank he and his wife played on his 3 daughters.
"It's with dried elbow macaroni noodles and I put them in my mouth. I came in and told them (my daughters) 'oh my nose! I think it might be broken.' I said 'come here, come grab it,'" said Jared. "My oldest daughter Naomi twisted it and when she twisted it I had snuck the noodles in my mouth about 5 or 6 seconds earlier and as soon as I crunched it was so loud! It sounded really bad and the kids took off running. It was really cute and funny."
The Maddocks submitted the video back in May, but it wasn't until Jared's birthday in August that they got the call informing them that they were finalists on the show. Two wekes later, they were flown down to the studio in Manhattan Beach, California to film the show. They won 3rd place, a cash prize, and a great family memory.
"Not very many people make it on there so we're real blessed for that," said Jared.
