ROGUE VALLEY, Ore. - Officials across several departments in Jackson and Josephine counties got together on Tuesday, providing information on the efforts against illegal hemp and cannabis growth.
The goal of the forum was to help provide transparency with community members, along with an opportunity to hear from individuals and agencies on the front lines regarding the obstacles that have emerged as a result of this growing issue in Southern Oregon.
One phrase that continuously came up throughout the entirety of the meeting was the need for more enforcement. Officials across all departments that spoke Tuesday vowed that they were performing to the best of their ability with what resources they have, but they could still use more help.
And for those interested in the matter but were unable to attend tonight's meeting, Rep. Pam Marsh said that a video of the forum will be available on her website.
