PHOENIX, Ore. --- At the corner of Brandon Way and Dano Street, Kory Shrader and his team are hard at work rebuilding homes.
“We've started two houses in this neighborhood, I’ll get tress on this house behind me here later on today and we will have a roof on it by the end of the week,” Kory said.
This after the Almeda fire destroyed so many.
"I couldn't believe it, I couldn't believe how the fire went through here so fast and so hot,” Kory added.
Now Kory is hoping to bring life back into what was taken away in a matter of minutes.
"I lost a rental home and my family lost 8 in total,” Kory said.
Kory and the rest of his team are working to revive what was such a dark area.
“I’ve known the people that have had this house behind me for years they are family I’m rebuilding 3 of their houses that were burned in the fire and we are getting ready to start at 4th,” Kory said.
He will once again tell you that this town and this community will stand tall once again.
“I think it symbolizes bringing phoenix back we are going to build it back better than it was,” Kory said.
