RIGHT NOW: Chain Requirements

Oregon Department of Transportation sent out a list of chain requirements in our region.

SOUTHERN OREGON-- Oregon Department of Transportation equipment that has a plow is working statewide. Here is the list or chain requirements by road. 

Update as of 2/10 5:00 am 

HIGHWAY 18/ Willamette Pass East: Carry chanis or traction tires.

Update as of 2/9 at 12:00 pm 

HIGHWAY 1/Siskiyou Summit South Bound: Carry chanis or traction tires.

HIGHWAY 1/Siskiyou Summit North Bound: Carry chanis or traction tires.

Update as of 2/9 at 10:10 am 

HIGHWAY 22/ Prospect: Chains requires from milepoints 44-55. Traction tires are allowed in place of chains on vehicles under 10,000 GVW and not towing. 

HIGHWAY 22/ UPPER Crater Lake BDRY: Chains required from milepoints 56-65. Traction tires are allowed in place of chains on vehicles under 10,000 GVW and not towing.

HIGHWAY 233/ W Diamond Lake SMT: Chains required from milepoints 0-24. Traction tires are allowed in place of chains on vehicles under 10,000 GVW and not towing.

HIGHWAY 138/ E Diamond Lake SMT: Chains required from milepoints 63-93. Traction tires are allowed in place of chains on vehicles under 10,000 GVW and not towing.

HIGHWAY 21/GREEN SPRINGS SMT: Chains are required from milepoints 9-44. Traction tires alone are not sufficient. 

HIGHWAY 1/ Canyon Creek Pass: Carry chanis or traction tires. 

HIGHWAY 270/ Lake of the Woods: Chains required for vehicles towing or over 10,000 GVW from milepoints 21-41.
