MEDFORD, Ore. — Rogue Community College (RCC) says it is again offering funding to train health care workers tuition-free through the $15 million Southern Oregon HOPE grant.

"Healthcare as a sector is growing exponentially, and as we can see in this time of COVID-19, healthcare demands remain high," said SOHOPE completion specialist Amy Lukens.

The Southern Oregon HOPE grant fully supports community members who want to become certified in the following health care occupations: Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomist, EMT, Certified Nursing Assistant, Community Healthcare Worker, and Medical Administrative Assistant.

Applicants can visit the RCC website to find out if they are eligible to receive support the grant. If eligible, there is a lottery process where an average of two out of every three applicants are selected to receive the grant.

The grant funds tuition, books, supplies, exam fees, childcare, counseling, and help finding a job finding completion, according to Lukens.

"We are here every step of the way!” Lukens said.
